Block Tales BUX Locations Checklist
Tick each BUX as you pick it up. Filter by area or ability gate to plan a cleanup run. Progress saves in this browser automatically.
- 60 BUX total across Chapters 1-5: Prologue 9, Ch1 8, Ch2 12, Ch3 10, Ch4 10, Ch5 11.
- BUX never drop from battles. Every one is a fixed overworld pickup.
- Spend BUX at Spaceman James (Bizville) or Spaceman Sam (right of Trinity Castle).
- Several BUX need Shrinking, Dynamite, Bottled Ship, Rocket Boots, or the Iron Sword to reach. Use the gate filter below before a cleanup run.
- Equip I Spy from the Bizville Arcade to get an in-area proximity cue.
BUX Count by Chapter
Use your in-game menu BUX Found counter as a quick diagnostic. If your total matches a chapter boundary below you know exactly which chapter still has missing pickups.
Prologue — 9 BUX
Bizville streets, the Library, Job Center, Arcade, Iron Cafe, and Meadows. All free to collect except the East Bizville lightpost (Rocket Boots or rooftop route).
Chapter 1 — 8 BUX
Caves, Penguin Land, and Blackrock Castle. One BUX (Bonus Puzzle) needs Shrinking plus Dynamite and Ball, so plan a return visit.
Chapter 2 — 12 BUX
West Bizville, Ant Hill, Turitopulis Forest, Rugged Rainforest, and Sacred Hollow. One requires the Iron Sword to cut grass.
Chapter 3 — 10 BUX
The Conductor's Train cars, Cemetery, Haunted Manor exterior, and Manor Basement. All reachable without special abilities.
Chapter 4 — 10 BUX
Bizville Docks, Scorched Dunes, Ancient Tomb, Oasis, Vermillion Village, and Red Sun zones. Two need Dynamite and Bottled Ship; one needs Rocket Boots.
Chapter 5 — 11 BUX
Wizard's Tower, The Heights, Trinity Castle, Redcliff, Splintered Skies, Astral Isles, and Seventh Sanctum. All reachable once you reach each area.
BUX Collection Checklist Tracker
Tick each BUX as you find it. Your picks save to this browser with localStorage. Use the filters to focus a cleanup run on a specific area or to skip pickups you cannot reach yet.
Prologue — Bizville & Meadows
0/9Chapter 1 — Caves, Penguin Land & Blackrock
0/8Chapter 2 — Rainforest & Sacred Hollow
0/12Chapter 3 — The Train, Cemetery & Haunted Manor
0/10Chapter 4 — Desert, Dunes & Red Sun
0/10Chapter 5 — Castle, Skies & Sanctum
0/11Not ideal for: players who prefer a pure route table sorted by chapter order rather than a tick-off format. For that, see the All BUX Locations route page.
How to Run a BUX Cleanup Pass
Most players end a first playthrough short of 60 BUX because several pickups sit behind abilities unlocked later in the story. Running a targeted cleanup after finishing Chapter 5 is faster than searching every room blind.
- Open your in-game menu and note your current BUX Found total. Subtract from the chapter totals above to pinpoint which chapters still have gaps.
- Before leaving town, buy I Spy from the Bizville Arcade if you haven't already. It pings when a BUX is in your area and gets louder when you are close.
- Use the ability gate filter on this tracker to show only pickups that need a specific ability. Clear those in one focused pass rather than mixing free and gated runs.
- Gated BUX that players most often miss: BUX 6 (East Bizville lightpost, needs Rocket Boots or a precise rooftop jump), BUX 15 (Blackrock Bonus Puzzle, needs Shrinking, Dynamite, and Ball), and BUX 42 (Ancient Tomb, needs Bottled Ship).
- Tick each one off here as you go. When the progress bar hits 60/60 you are done.
BUX That Need Special Abilities
Six BUX require a field ability that you do not have on a first visit to the area. Use the gate filter above to find them quickly during a cleanup run.
| BUX # | Location | Ability needed | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | East Bizville lightpost | Rocket Boots (or rooftop route) | Players who want to clear Prologue BUX on a Chapter 4+ return |
| 15 | Blackrock Bonus Puzzle | Shrinking + Dynamite + Ball | Chapter 3+ revisit; all three abilities needed simultaneously |
| 19 | Mount Blackrock (1) grass | Iron Sword | Chapter 2+ revisit after acquiring the Iron Sword |
| 41 | Outer Scorched Dunes red rocks | Dynamite | Chapter 4 cleanup pass |
| 42 | Ancient Tomb (3) dock | Bottled Ship | Chapter 4 cleanup pass |
| 48 | Red Sun River magma pillars | Rocket Boots | Chapter 4 cleanup pass |
Block Tales BUX Locations FAQ
How many BUX are in Block Tales?
60 BUX are obtainable in the current Chapter 5 build. The in-game menu tracks progress toward 100, but the other 40 are not in the released content yet. The chapter split is: Prologue 9, Chapter 1 8, Chapter 2 12, Chapter 3 10, Chapter 4 10, Chapter 5 11.
What do BUX do in Block Tales?
BUX are the main card currency. You spend them at Spaceman James in Bizville (available from the Prologue) and at Spaceman Sam's secret shop just right of Trinity Castle in Chapter 5. BUX cannot be earned from battles or sold, so collecting them all is worth doing before finishing the story.
Which Block Tales BUX locations need abilities to reach?
Six pickups need a field ability: East Bizville (Rocket Boots or precise rooftop route), Blackrock Bonus Puzzle (Shrinking, Dynamite, and Ball all at once), Mount Blackrock grass cut (Iron Sword), Outer Scorched Dunes red rocks (Dynamite), Ancient Tomb dock (Bottled Ship), and Red Sun River magma pillars (Rocket Boots). Use the gate filter on this tracker to isolate them.
Does this BUX checklist save my progress?
Yes. The checklist uses localStorage in your own browser. Nothing is sent to a server. Close the tab and come back, and your ticked boxes persist exactly as you left them. Clearing browser data or using a different device will reset the tracker.
What is I Spy and how does it help find BUX?
I Spy is a card you can buy from the Bizville Arcade. When equipped, it signals when a BUX is somewhere in your current area map, and the signal gets stronger as you get physically closer. It doesn't tell you the exact hiding spot, so pair it with the area filter here to narrow down where to look.
How is this BUX checklist different from the All BUX Locations page?
The All BUX Locations page is a static route table sorted by chapter order. It reads well on first playthrough when you just want to know what's next in sequence. This tracker is for players doing a cleanup run: you can tick off what you've already collected, filter by area or ability gate to target specific missing pickups, and watch a progress bar instead of counting rows in a table.
